Police are searching for a man who tried to pose as a Stryker Medical employee in a Pennsylvania hospital. The man entered the hospital early in the morning and claimed to be an employee there to work on the hospital’s medical equipment.
Stryker Medical makes surgical devices and implants as well as machines to help surgeons install devices. Stryker recently urged surgeons to stop using one of its devices that was causing implants to be improperly placed, and issued a voluntary Stryker recall of its Rejuvenate and ABG II hip replacements.
The Stryker Rejuvenate and Stryker ABG II hip replacements have been found to fail early and increase the risks of serious hip replacement complications. The company could face thousands of Rejuvenate and ABG II lawsuits alleging that the devices caused fretting, corrosion, tissue damage and metallosis.
